Objectives:
Having been selected in the tender process, we were awarded the contract to prepare a feasibility study for the development of Tallinn Airport. Our study entailed a long-term traffic forecast, environmental management guidelines, a technical development concept and a financial assessment. The aim of the project was to provide the client with a sound basis for short-term and long-term decision-making regarding the airport’s future. For this purpose, several options for the terminal development were developed based on the traffic forecast. One option was prepared in detail. The documents serve as a basis for the further planning steps. However, our assignment also included the analysis and optimization of the apron areas and landside development areas. The apron near the terminal building was therefore analyzed and redesigned in detail. We tested this with simulations and further optimized the layout of the apron.
