In the year 2016, the third round of airport privatization was organized in brazil. This round of privatizations included the airports of Porto Alegre, Salvador, Florianopolis and Fortaleza.

Fortaleza airport had a passenger volume of 6.3 million passengers in 2015. The concession period was defined with 30 years plus 5 more years optionally. According to the tender documents, the following works had to be performed:

• Expansion of the passenger terminal
• Extension of Apron Area
• Extension of the runway

The task of AIRPORT COMPETENCE was first to determine the traffic figures for the entire concession period. After that, our technical department started with the design process that was executed based on the tender documents and the traffic figures.
